The Dutch work visa (Highly Skilled Migrant / Kennismigrant) is the mainstream path for entrepreneurs and executives who want to keep their business in China while securing a European base. Oromar supports the full journey — assessment, employer matching, landing and settling in — plus a self-employed B.V. route.
Who It Is For
- Business owners and executives keeping operations in China
- Professionals seeking a second base in Europe
- Families who want European education for their children
Six-Step Process
1. Assessment & filing (2-4 weeks): qualification review, visa type, employer matching, document preparation.
2. IND review (up to 90 days, usually 1-3 months): Dutch immigration authority processing.
3. MVV visa (1-3 weeks): entry visa at the Dutch consulate.
4. Registration & dependants (BRP, 1-4 weeks): spouse and children can accompany.
5. B.V. incorporation (2-4 weeks): articles of association and KvK registration.
6. Employment transfer (within 6 months of arrival): move to your own B.V. — one visa, residency for the whole family.
The 30% Ruling
Eligible expatriates can be taxed on 30% of their salary, significantly lowering the effective tax burden. We assess eligibility and file on your behalf.
Family
Spouses may work freely; children enter the public school system with Dutch-language support; family health insurance is arranged.
FAQ
Is Dutch required?
No. The Highly Skilled Migrant scheme centres on employer sponsorship and qualifications; local tax/legal support is provided later.
Is transferring employment to my own company risky?
It is a common route but must meet IND salary and substance requirements. We assess each case with licensed advisors and make no guarantees.
How long from assessment to arrival?
Typically 3-6 months, depending on employer matching and IND processing.
